Dr. Lawrence Wapnah is an experienced Specialist General Practitioner from Australia who has moved to Vienna with his Austrian wife and two children.

Dr. Wapnah graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Flinders University of South Australia and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

He has also full Austrian / European registration - Doktor der Medizin {Medizinische Universität Wien}; Arzt für Allgemeinmedizin {Österreichische Ärztekammer}.

Before moving to Austria, Dr. Wapnah worked for the past 10+ years as a General Practitioner at Seacrest Medical Centre in Perth Western Australia where he enjoyed working with a great team of Doctors, Nurses and Administrative staff.  He also taught medical students and doctors in training.  Seacrest Medical Centre provides a full spectrum of medical care for all ages, i.e., babies to the very old, from travel advice & vaccinations to work & insurance medicals. Minor surgery is also performed including skin cancer identification & treatment and ‘Implanon’ contraceptive insertion/removal.

Additionally to his work in general practice, Dr. Wapnah worked as a Senior Rural-Remote Medical Officer through the Dept of Health & Families in the Northern Territory which has taken him from such places as Kaltukatjara (Docker River Settlement), Wadeye (Port Keats), Yirrkala and Groote Eylandt – providing medical care to the mainly Aboriginal populations of the areas.
Outside of Australia, Dr. Wapnah has also travelled extensively for both work and pleasure. This has taken him from Antarctica to the Pacific Islands, from Southern Africa to the Middle-East & Europe, from North America to much of Asia. Dr. Wapnah speaks English, German and French.

Dr. Wapnah has always maintained an interest in Diabetes. As such he was invited to be elected as Director of Diabetes WA (2008-2011), responsible for Diabetes Services for the State of Western Australia.

Dr. Wapnah is foremost a General Practitioner and is happy to consult with anyone, of any age, about any medical problem {Should the matter require further specialist management, he would of course refer accordingly}.
